  1. Best Investment Podcast : MyWallSt Stock Club

Stock Club is a podcast hosted in our own studio here at MyWallSt HQ by our Head of Content and Publishing, James Dunne, our Chief Investment Officer, Emmet Savage, and our Chief Analyst, Rory Carron. In our completely unbiased opinion, this is the best investment podcast out there. The team discusses current market news, launches stocks from our MyWallSt shortlist  ,  and uncovers the stock market with its destructive jargon section.

What sets this podcast apart from the others on this list is its applicability to all levels of investors. People talk casually about current hot topics in the stock market, breaking down some of the stocks we have on our subscription service, as well as answering questions about topics or concepts that may be daunting for novice investors. Having a REIT described with an Irish accent is the only way to learn!

So join the MyWallSt investment team as they sit down to chat about the companies and strategies that shape their investment life.

  1. Best deep dive company: Chit Chat Money

Hosted by Brett Schaffer and Ryan Henderson, Chit Chat Money is a great casual listener about the world of investing. Both hosts are very well read and usually join one or two star guests to discuss the arrival and departure of the market.

However, what sets this podcast apart is its company’s deep dives. Twice a week, the podcast will dissect lesser-known public companies, showing some high-level due diligence as they break down S1 or 10k, finance, leadership teams, and market opportunities. The level of detail and quality of analysis is second to none and I’ve found podcasts to be a great accompaniment when I do my own research. Some recent deep dives include Trade Desk, Skechers and Alphabet.

  • Time: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
  • Dónde: Uang Obrolan Chit, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts.
  • How long: Between 30 minutes and two hours.
  1. Best Economy Podcast: Planet Money by NPR

Economics explains. Simple missions, complicated execution. Planet Money has been around for over 10 years and has over 900 episodes in its catalog. NPR releases episodes of Planet Money twice a week, though new episodes are sometimes interspersed with classic episodes of vault. The variety of themes and levels of detail are amazing.

This podcast applies to novice investors as it does to experienced investment bankers. Here is a list of some of the topics covered:

  • Using AI to track elephants
  • Mexican Fuel Thieves
  • Synthetic marijuana
  • The government accidentally made too much cheese

Planet Money does an excellent job of explaining something boring in a way that it really isn’t. It tries to make economic theory accessible to the general public, using these curious case studies to magnify complex underlying problems.

  1. Best Commentary Podcasts : Pivot Scott Galloway and Kara Swisher

If you don’t already know Scott Galloway, get to know him, hurry up. He is one of our favorite commentators here at MyWallSt and will soon be yours as well. His indifference to Adam Neumann and the chaos at WeWork provided an unblinking light on corporate governance that led to the downfall of the company. Her pull no punches style is at home sitting next to Kara Swisher on the Pivot podcast. His dark humor and dry wit were unleashed in tech news this week, resulting in some bold predictions (we’re still waiting for Netflix  to make an offer to buy Spotify).

Pivots are a great place to get an honest and honest analysis of all things technology, business, and politics. Galloway and Swisher did an excellent job of giving their expert opinions as part of a casual conversation between friends. It also gives some really good quotes. Galloway’s personal favorite: “If you tell a thirty-year-old white man that he is Jesus Christ, he is likely to believe you.”

  1. Best Investment Podcast Host: Masters of Scale by Reid Hoffman

Reid Hoffman is the co-founder of LinkedIn, former COO of PayPal and partner at Greylock Partners. He also serves on the boards of Airbnb, Convoy, Edmodo and Microsoft. I know what you’re thinking: why does this guy need to make a podcast? The answer is that you don’t have to, you just like to do it.

The premise of the podcast revolves around a specific idea promoted by the host. In the words of the podcast “Reid Hoffman set out to describe and test a theory that explains how great entrepreneurs took their companies from zero to a trillion in an ingenious way.” Therefore, each episode has a unique perspective based on the theory in question. From starting a business to scaling up with MailChimp CEO Ben Chestnutt to a formula for big hiring with Aneel Bhusri, co-founder and CEO of Workday, each episode provides unique insights into the company’s growth.

If that’s not enough for you, Hoffman has an interesting way of presenting his theory to listeners at the beginning of each podcast. First-time listeners aren’t discouraged when you listen to hear about hiring strategies and are welcomed by way of distilling bourbon. Everything blends smoothly and smoothly, just like the right bourbon!

  • Timing: Release dates are pretty erratic with a week, two weeks, or a month between episodes
