THE BEST SNACKS TO TRAVEL

Whether you’re hanging out at the beach, traveling by road, or flying around the world, carrying healthy snacks is the KEY to making you feel comfortable during your trip and after the holidays. There are plenty of grab-and-go options, most of them very unhealthy, but these are the best ride snacks so you can pack up and feel safe throughout the summer. Trust me… Everyone on your trip will appreciate it too!

The goal is to incorporate some healthy fats and proteins into your system that will eliminate the need to pick up potato chips, sweets, and other not-so-tasty snacks. Otherwise, your blood sugar may start to rise, and most snacks offer little or no nutritional value.

Crazy about you!

I’ve always been crazy with me. I actually carry extra luggage just to hold snacks when I travel! They’re in my car, bag, gym, and beach bag ALWAYS!

Last fall I told you about Orchard Valley Harvest’s Omega-3 health mix and just tried a mixture of cashew nuts almonds and blueberries this week. Those are really two of my favorite nuts and who doesn’t love blueberries?

The almond-cashew blend is a source of HEALTHY fats, protein, fiber, and magnesium (good for sore muscles!). Why are they the best snack for traveling? They come in small bags with perfect portions so you can take them with you on the go without overdoing it. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

Ah ball…

In addition to nuts, when I travel I always pack a few balls of homemade protein. They are easy to make and are the perfect snack to give you a little boost of energy on the go. They are like balls from heaven, super sweet and basically desserts.

There are a million different ways to make it and I have a few recipes here and on YouTube. * Very important to remember: If you take them on a trip, don’t soak your date. They will last longer with dried dates in an airtight container or bag.

Gobble Gobble

Turkish jerky is another amazing travel snack. Because it is dry, it will last for weeks in your bag. It’s a great snack when you’re trying to stay slim because turkey jerky is packed with protein, plus a healthy amount of fat and carbs. However, be sure to read the label! Not all jerky is created equal! Look for brands that are low in sodium and sugar to stay fun and healthy.

These three snacks are together and you can’t go wrong when you travel. Especially since Orchard Valley Harvest has a lot of different blends, it gives you a good variety to always change your snack game. Because I love them so much, I have a special gift for Team LSF!
